ABOUT TRIAL LAWYERS CARE

After the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Wade Byrd, together with many other trial attorneys, pledged to do what they do best — give voice to the voiceless. They promised to provide free legal services to any family wishing to seek help through a newly created federal fund. Trial Lawyers Care was the nonprofit organization that made those free legal services possible.

  • More than 1,100 lawyers volunteered from every state and six Canadian provinces, as well as England, Mexico and Australia.
  • Trial Lawyers Care counseled 4,000 families, helping those from 35 states and 11 countries.
  • Trial Lawyers Care lawyers provided pro bono representation to more than 1,700 families that applied for federal financial help.
  • Lawyers dedicated a combined total of more than 100 years of service on these cases.

Wade Byrd represented three families, recovering significant compensation without charging or receiving any fee.
